Christmas in Lethbridge
Drive In Edition

This year, we are staging a Drive In Nativity Dec 21-24. This 15 minute live production of the Gospel story at Christmas will be presented on a large stage that will be built in front of our main doors. The congregation will view the show from the comfort of their own cars, and everyone can listen to the sound track through their car radios. There will be three presentations every hour, so there will be room for everyone.

Monday Dec 21 5:30-8:30 PM

Tuesday Dec 22 5:30-8:30 PM

Wednesday Dec 23 5:30-8:30 PM

Thursday Dec 24 4:00-7:00 PM (Christmas Eve)

Optional Pre-Registration:

Register for a performance below, or just come and catch the next available performance!

How can I get involved?

Consider joining the cast, construction crew, Christmas lighting team or parking crew. If you are interested in helping out, you can volunteer through the online Connection Cards or email Ken Dosso.

Is it COVID safe for the audience?

All audience members will be encouraged to stay in their cars at all times. The only time anyone will be required to roll down a window is to get some print materials and goodies from a greeter.

Is it COVID safe for the cast and crew?

The production will be staged in a way to allow actors and cast to be socially distanced at all times when on stage, in the parking lot,  or when they are warming up in doors between performances.

Christmas Eve Service Online

Join us here on December 24 for a wonder filled Christmas Eve service celebrating the birth of Jesus. This livestream will be filled with great carol singing, colorful depictions of the Biblical Christmas story, and a fireside message from Pastor Geoff. Plan to watch it with your family, and be sure to share it with your friends.

This service will begin at noon on December 24  and will available to watch any time after.

Another year of Advent Conspiracy is upon us and we are excited to announce our chosen organizations!

We have decided to support the work of two of our key ministry partners this Advent season: International Justice Mission (IJM) and Southern Alberta Bible Camp (SABC). The first $75,000 raised in our Advent Conspiracy project will go towards International Justice Mission and the remainder to SABC.

International Justice Mission (IJM)

IJM is an international Christian organization that protects the poor from violence. They accomplish this by partnering with local authorities to rescue victims of violence, bring criminals to justice, restore survivors, and strengthen justice systems. While our church’s partnership with IJM is not new, we have engaged a new focus by helping support the critical work that they are doing in Guatemala (See our website for further information). Covid-19 has exacerbated the already challenging situation in Guatemala, causing people in poverty to be even more vulnerable to violence. Government reports have shown an alarming increase in violence, including a 35% increase in complaints related to sexual violence and violence against women. This reality is stretching government and community resources, causing IJM to request additional financial support to help address the new challenges posed by Covid-19. Our financial support will help offset increased costs, including those associated with the purchase of resources such as face masks and cleaning supplies to support local investigation units and strategic partners. It would also help them build out technical infrastructure that will help control and monitor all reports of violence against women and children.

Southern Alberta Bible Camp (SABC)

SABC is a vital ministry partner of church. We know first-hand that they are accomplishing their purpose “to challenge, encourage, and inspire campers spiritually and physically to help equip them for life, and to develop Christian leadership in young adults”.  SABC celebrated their 75th anniversary a year ago and a vision project was moved forward in lead up to this milestone in order to address the need for additional camper space. They had been turning hundreds of campers away in recent years and they wanted to ensure every camper had an opportunity to participate in a life transforming experience with God. Thus, a three-phase plan was put in place that already added staff housing and cabins, with a grand opening scheduled this past summer for the phase-three lodge. In total, space for an additional 450 campers each summer was created. Unfortunately, Covid-19 prevented the camp from running this past summer, and weekend bookings were cancelled last spring and this fall affecting revenues streams. SABC has requested a $25,000 donation to cover the cost of purchasing new mattresses for the beds in the new lodge. In addition, they welcome assistance in paying down the $1.5 million debt still owed on the facility expansion. They anticipate a full launch of their camp program in 2021. b

We look forward to seeing you next Sunday!
