Are you passionate about sharing God’s love with children and helping them grow in their faith? Do you thrive in a vibrant, community-oriented church setting? The Evangelical Free Church of Lethbridge is looking for a warm and enthusiastic Children’s Pastor to step into a 9-month maternity leave position — bringing energy, creativity, and care to our children’s and youth ministries!
About the Role:
As the Children’s Pastor, you’ll lead our children’s ministry, serving kids from birth to Grade 5 and their families. You’ll also have a part-time role within youth programming, supporting middle and high school ministry and helping bridge the transition between children’s and youth programs. This position offers a unique opportunity to walk alongside kids as they grow through different stages of faith development!
If you love building connections, planning engaging activities, and helping kids and youth encounter God in fun and meaningful ways, we’d love to have you join our team!
What You’ll Do:
Children’s Ministry (Primary Responsibility – 75%):
- Lead & Shepherd: Oversee children’s programming on Sundays, mid-week events, and special activities, ensuring a safe, joyful, and gospel-centered environment.
- Support Families: Partner with parents and caregivers, providing encouragement, resources, and opportunities to help them lead their children spiritually.
- Equip Volunteers: Recruit, train, and support volunteer teams, empowering them to serve with confidence and joy.
- Plan & Organize: Manage ministry logistics, including curriculum planning, scheduling, and event coordination (like holiday programs or family gatherings).
Youth Ministry (Part-Time Support – 25%):
- Middle and High School Engagement: Assist with middle and high school programming, helping create a welcoming environment where pre-teens can explore faith, build friendships, and grow in their relationship with Jesus.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside the youth pastor and volunteer leaders to plan activities, teach lessons, and build relationships with students.
What We’re Looking For:
- A vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- A heart for children and youth, and a passion for nurturing their faith.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience in children’s or youth ministry (formal theological training is a bonus, but not required!).
- Ability to build and maintain healthy relationships with kids, youth, parents, volunteers, and church staff.
Why Join Us?
The Evangelical Free Church of Lethbridge is a welcoming, multi-generational church committed to glorifying God, loving others, and becoming followers of Jesus. Our children’s and youth ministries are integral to that mission — we believe kids and teens aren’t just the future of the church, they’re a vital part of it right now. You’ll be stepping into a supportive, collaborative environment where your work will make a real impact.
