Pastor of Local Engagement – Evangelical Free Church of Lethbridge

The Evangelical Free Church of Lethbridge is looking for a dynamic and compassionate **Pastor of Local Engagement** to join our team!
Position Overview
As the Pastor of Local Engagement, you will play a key role in leading our church’s efforts to connect with the local community. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to serve, engage, and share the love of Christ with those in our city. Working closely with the pastoral team, you will foster relationships with individuals, families, and organizations, creating opportunities for outreach and discipleship.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage local partnerships that reflect the heart of our church and the needs of the Lethbridge community and are consistent with EFCL policy.
- Develop relationships with community leaders and partner with local organizations to serve our city effectively. Key areas of focus include:
- faith-based partner organizations
- Indigenous groups
- Newcomers to Canada
- Equip and empower church members/adherents to participate in outreach and service projects.
- Collaborate with other church ministries to integrate local engagement into the life of the church.
Qualifications
- A deep, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for serving others.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and mobilize volunteers.
- Experience in community engagement, outreach, or related ministry roles.
- Ability to work collaboratively with church staff and volunteers to create a unified vision for outreach.
- A heart for Lethbridge and a desire to see the gospel impact lives in our city.

Mandarin Pastor – Evangelical Free Church of Lethbridge
Position Overview
The Evangelical Free Church of Lethbridge (EFCL) is seeking a Mandarin Pastor to lead and coordinate Mandarin language programming and build meaningful connections within the local Mandarin-speaking community. This part-time role (20 hours per week) involves spiritual leadership, community outreach, and fostering growth within the Mandarin-speaking congregation, in alignment with EFCL’s mission to make disciples in Lethbridge.
Qualifications
Spiritual and Personal Qualities
- A vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Strong commitment to the vision, mission, and values of EFCL.
- A servant’s heart with a passion for pastoral care and community building.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in theology, pastoral ministry, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience in pastoral ministry, particularly within Mandarin-speaking communities, is preferred.
- Proficiency in Mandarin and English, both written and spoken.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong biblical knowledge and ability to communicate Scripture effectively in Mandarin.
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity to the needs of Mandarin-speaking individuals and families.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Working Conditions
- This is a part-time role (20 hours per week) with a flexible schedule to accommodate ministry needs, including evenings and weekends, as required.
- The Mandarin Pastor will report to the Discipleship Ministry Lead and work closely with the pastoral team.
