Conquer Series is a study for men desiring to go deeper in their relationship with Christ in the area of sexual purity and integrity. This series provides tools for men to actively engage in the battle that entangles so many men, both inside and outside the church. Conquer Series is for men struggling with sexual addiction and those who are walking alongside a brother battling sexual addiction. Through weekly meetings, men will experience a safe place to be open and honest about the hidden corners of their lives. Over the 12 weeks, a positive, close-knit small community built on openness, honesty and accountability will form. This study is biblically focused on deepening one’s relationship with Christ while equipping men with the tools and strategies to live in integrity and purity.

We are looking to run Conquer again, please click here to express interest in participating and Jeff or Ken will be in touch.

The Men’s Room will be hosting a Men’s Breakfast on Saturday, September 27 starting at 9am. All men (and their sons) are welcome to join us. Please register all who plan to attend to help us prepare enough food for the morning. A free will offering will be taken.

Many men who struggle with sexual brokenness try to go it alone. They believe the lie that sexual brokenness is about sex; when really, it’s about medicating the pain in their lives. Despite their losses—marriage, ministry, relationships, and more—they continue to return to unwanted sexual behaviors.

But the truth is, we cannot fix a problem if we don’t know what’s causing it.

Through the Seven Pillars of Freedom you’ll start to understand your whole story and identify what contributes to your sexual brokenness. You will begin your recovery from unwanted sexual behavior with a trusted group of men on the same journey. Through Seven Pillar’s guided lessons and a trusted community, you will develop the tools necessary to break free, heal your relationship, and take back your life.

Going the Distance with Hope, Character, and Perseverance

Romans 5:1-5

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

This group of women meets on Zoom at 7am starting on September 17.  They will be following along with the current sermon series, Walk this Way. If you would like to join this group or have questions, please email Bev.

Betrayal & Beyond explores the truth and nature of sexual addiction, and how women are affected by their partner’s behaviours. For women who have suffered betrayal, their healing comes from understanding the role of trauma, establishing healthy boundaries, exploring the depth of forgiveness, and learning to live in restoration.

Our desire for pre-marital is to equip and prepare couples for marriage. It is important for you to know that our emphasis at EFCL is not weddings but marriage. We desire to see your marriage be a lasting and fulfilling relationship. Pre-marital and early marriage support can make a significant difference in the long-term health and viability of your marriage. This is why we have a pre-martial process which involves counselling, mentoring, and our pre-marriage course – stay tuned for our next scheduled weekend.

For any other pre-marital questions and info email Luke.

At the Evangelical Free Church of Lethbridge, we desire to see marriages thrive. Whatever your situation, whether you go to church, or whether your relationship is in good shape or struggling we want to walk along side you.

Stay tuned for future events and ways we plan to support and equip you for a healthy marriage.

The Marriage Mentoring initiative pairs younger couples with older couples who want to listen and invest in your lives. Over the course of 1 year, couples will commit to meeting with each other once a month. This isn’t crisis counselling, it’s an opportunity to share your story and learn from the life experience of another couple.

To request a marriage mentor, click here.

Mentoring might sound intimidating but it’s not. You and your spouse have more to offer than you realize. Your story, with all its ups and downs, can give help and hope to a younger couple.

Problems arise in every marriage. From infidelity to a lack of communication, poor emotional and physical intimacy, fighting and conflict, breaking of trust, disagreements about how best to live life, and so much else, marriages face constant challenges. When a marriage hits a point of crisis, there can be a sense of shame about where things are at, and how things do not fit with the ideal you had in mind when you said: “I do”. There comes a time when people can no longer shade their eyes from the messiness of a marriage. While our first inclination may be toward keeping our struggles concealed and going it alone, finding a place to be safe, honest, and supported can help you and your spouse.

When Your Marriage is in Crisis:

  1. Ensure you are safe. Ask for help.
  2. Face things with honesty. It is hard to admit where things are at, but it is important.
  3. Seek support. Support can be found in resources, counselling, and community like friends and family.
