SESSION 2: Could God Command Genocide?
What was involved in God’s command to kill the Canaanites? Was such a command morally justifiable? Was this truly genocide? This talk will address such topics as hyperbole (exaggeration) in such ancient New Eastern war texts, the language of “driving out” or “dispossessing,” miracles as authenticating the genuineness of such commands, the relationship of love and wrath, and much more.
