Some guidelines we use for announcing upcoming events at EFCL:
The most effective communication tool for people already involved in your ministry is to contact them directly by individual/group email, handouts, text, or phone. Please speak to us if you need help setting up systems to do this effectively.
1. Bulletin announcements:
With rare exceptions, events are listed the two Sundays prior to the event. The bulletin includes details for upcoming all-church events, as well as targeted ministries (Women’s Ministries, Community Outreach, Prime Timers, etc.). Serving opportunities and church community events may also be included on a case by case basis. (Deadline: Monday at 5:00 pm)
2. Online calendar:
All events hosted by EFCL and directly related to our church family are listed on our online calendar. A printed version for the upcoming month is inserted in the bulletin monthly.
Goes out by email the last Sunday of every month. Printed copies are available at the Info Centre for those without email. In addition to upcoming events, Freemail includes family news (births, deaths, accommodations needed, notes of appreciation) as well as announcements of upcoming events in the community (concerts, conferences, fundraising banquets, etc.). (Deadline: two Fridays prior to publication; for affilitated ministries, 6 weeks notice is preferred to ensure effective promotion)
4. Bulletin inserts:
Used sparingly for all church events and invitations.
5. In-service verbal announcements:
Reserved for all-church events and occassionally targeted ministries at the discretion of the Minister for Worship Arts, Lead Pastor, and the Communications Director. Speak directly to Ken Dosso or Christy Jansma to request a verbal announcement after completing a bulletin announcement request form.
