“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.”

2 Chronicles 7:14,15

Dear E-Free Family,

I am so thankful for your desire to seek after the face of God on behalf of our church.  The purpose of this week is to seek God’s face together, listen to his voice, and ask that He empower our efforts to expand His Kingdom.  Many don’t realize the power, joy and life that come from fasting.  I am grateful that you do, and are looking forward to seeking God’s face for our church.

We are living in a time when we need that - now is the time to fast, and pray that Gods Kingdom would come, on earth, as it is in heaven.  In Acts 13:2 the church was fasting when the Holy Spirit told them to appoint Saul and Barnabas as apostles. Fasting enabled them to hear the voice of the Lord more clearly.  Dear family, I am asking that over this next week we set aside some time to earnestly pray and hear the voice of God through our time of fasting.

We are looking to intercede for the people of our church and the community, seek God’s power to fulfill His calling to us, and listen for any specific direction He has for us.

Thank you for fasting and praying for our church.

If you have any specific words, pictures, verses, or thoughts that come during your times of prayer please e-mail them to prayer@efreelethbridge.ca

Warmly,

Pastor Geoff

Meeting ID: 829 7011 6423
Passcode: 733903

Monday - UP: That we would grow in passionately following the Father and being transformed into His likeness.

Prayer Guide - UP

“...if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  2 Chronicles 7:14

IF, a powerful 2 letter word that can propel us forward in our pursuit of God, a word that shows our responsibility in our relationship with God. Seeking God is each person’s own responsibility and leads us to lean into prayer, to live confessional lives, listening in prayer and developing deep relationships with those outside of the Kingdom by living the Gospel in our lives.

As you seek spiritual renewal allow the Holy Spirit to prompt you in your prayers. Some thoughts to get you started may be as follows:

-Praise the Lord that He has made himself known to us as the Word (John 1:1)

-Praise God, that He, the Spirit of Truth, guides us into all truth (John 16:13)

-Praise God that He is faithful to forgive us our sins when we confess them (1 John 1:9)

-Praise God that we can live holy, pleasing lives as we offer ourselves to Him (Rom 12:1)

-Pray that you will passionately follow the Father and be transformed into His likeness (Rom 12:2)

-Pray that we will be worshippers that worship in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:24)

-Pray that the Holy Spirit highlights anything in your life that keeps you from a deeper relationship with the Father

-Pray that you will seek God with all your heart and that this week you will grow closer to him (Jer 29:13)

Tuesday - OUT: That we would grow in graciously enfolding anyone into our warm and loving, Spirit-let family.

Prayer Guide - OUT

“...if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  2 Chronicles 7:14

IF, a powerful 2 letter word that can propel us forward in our pursuit of God, a word that shows our responsibility in our relationship with God and a word that comes with a promise of forgiveness and healing. Our world needs us to be consumed with the presence of God so that we will be compelled to witness and share the hope of forgiveness and healing.

-Praise God that He has revealed himself as Jehovah-Rapha, the restorer/healer of our souls and of our land (2 Chron 7:14)

-Praise God that He is the one who draws all people to Himself (John 12:32)

-Praise God that he invites us into the great commission and enables us to share the gospel and make disciples of all nations (Matt 28:19-20)

-Praise God for opportunities to engage in our local community through a city wide Easter service, Live Nativity production, and our Advent Conspiracy.

-Pray that we will boldly love our community, speaking hope through Jesus and reaching out to those in need. Pray that each one would reach one (Rom 10:14-15)

-Pray that our presence in the Southbrook neighborhood would bear fruit for the Kingdom and through it we will learn what it takes to be user friendly to the community (Rom 15:2)

-Pray that we will be welcoming to the broken among us and reach out to our city with a corporate focus on the needy, demonstrating the love and compassion of Christ (Matt 25:40)

-Pray that we would build our ministry to new Canadians, recognizing God has brought the mission field to our door (Acts 28:30-31)

Also, feel free to check out our website for our local and global mission organizations and pray for them as you focus your prayers for our community and our world.

Wednesday - IN: That we would grow in boldly loving our community, speaking hope through Jesus, reaching out to those in need.

Prayer Guide - IN

“...if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  2 Chronicles 7:14

IF, a powerful 2 letter word that can propel us forward in our pursuit of God, a word that shows our responsibility in our relationship with God and a word that comes with a promise of a deep relationship with the One who knows us best.

As we humble ourselves and seek God’s face we make space for God to revive us, to make us holy, and to equip us to carry out His mission of making disciples. As you seek revival allow the Holy Spirit to prompt you in your prayers. Some thoughts to get you started may be as follows:

-Praise God for the legacy of integrity in our church leadership (1Tim 3:2)

-Praise God for a church family that follows it’s leadership well (Heb 13:17)

-Praise God that his grace is sufficient and that his power is made perfect in our weakness (2 Cor 12:9)

-Praise God for opportunities to show love to each other well in our church family.

-Pray that our church family will graciously enfold anyone into our warm and loving, Spirit-led family (Col 3:12-17)

-Pray that we will be a people aligned with God’s purposes and engaging on mission with Him (Matt 28:18-20)

-Pray that we will improve shepherding and loving those that God has brought here, and help new people connect to our caring community quickly and effectively (1 Pet 5:2)

-Pray that our staff are able to equip us for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up (Eph 4:11-12)

Thursday - Church direction: That we would have a sense of the direction for E-Free for the coming year, and that the church board would be able to make wise plans on how to move forward at their annual retreat (Jan 14-15)

Friday - The church around the world: That we would be a vital part of renewal, discipleship and evangelism on a global scale.
